Below is a step-by-step guide to using Academic English Review.

STEP 1
When your work is ready for review, please send me your document file to academicenglishreview@gmail.com


Please include the following information in the main body of your email:

  • Document type: Journal Article, Conference, Paper, Monograph, Thesis, Dissertation, Essay, Presentation, Training or Workshop Materials.
  • Deadline: This is the date by which you wish to receive your document back – please allow plenty of time before your own submission deadline to be able to respond to any suggestions and recommendations made by me during the review process, such as needing to add or complete bibliographical references, printing and binding your document.      
  • Format: British / American
  • Style: (e.g. Oxford, Harvard, Chicago) If no style guide is supplied I will correct references to the style that is prevalent in the document to ensure continuity.
  • If your work is currently being assessed for an academic award: Please confirm this so the appropriate service (proofreading/copy editing, with an optional coaching/mentoring session) can be applied.
  • Training & Programme Review enquiries: Please briefly describe the programme or workshop and how many modules/units it covers, so a scoping session can be arranged.

STEP 2

  • All Editing Services: Having received your document, I will do a word count and send an email back confirming receipt of your document, your deadline date, and a price based on the word count. If you are happy with your quote, please confirm via email reply.
  • Training & Programme Reviews: This step instead involves a short scoping session (charged at £100, credited against the full booking) to confirm the number of days required and provide a day-rate quote.

STEP 3

  • Having received your confirmation, I will begin work immediately. I edit all documents using the ‘track changes’ function of Microsoft Word. I provide this service so that you can see the changes and comments I have made. The clean version is then ready to print out so that you do not have to type in all the changes yourself.

Where a coaching/mentoring session has been booked (in place of substantial editing for assessed work), this will be arranged via Zoom at a mutually convenient time.

For Training & Programme Reviews, feedback is provided within programme documentation, checking content, materials and alignment against assessment and aims.

STEP 4

  • Once I have completed your review, I will email notification and send a payment request, including all payment options.

STEP 5

  • All Editing Services: Once payment has been received I will send you back the tracked and final version of your document immediately.
  • Training & Programme Reviews: Feedback reports will be sent immediately once payment has been received.
